This is a descendent of Lajos Szathmary's "The Bakery" restaurant
in Lincoln Park, which closed c. 1986.  It is run by one of his
former associates and fellow Hungarians, Mike Clements.
Tamas Bosze opened Paprikash restaurant in 1995, and for many years it was
Chicago's only Hungarian restaurant. He sold the Chicago eatery in 2004 (the
new owners relocated to Arlington Heights) and the next year the Boszes opened
The Epicurean, a Hungarian restaurant in Hillside, where Alina Bosze, 30, is
head chef.

Washington-Baltimore area Hungarian restaurants:

Pacino's, on the surface Italian but has Hungarian nights once per month,
always on Sundays.  A guestimate is that they're on the second Sunday
of the month.

There are 4 Austrian-German restaurants in Washington-Baltimore which are well-established:

Cafe Mozart (downtown DC)
Cafe Berlin (Capitol Hill)
Old Europe (Wisconsin Ave) - some of the servers are Hungarian!


Wurzburg Haus (Muncaster Mill Rd, Montgomery County) used to be a good
place to get sausage and Kaessler Rippchen, but it closed around June 2005,
sadly.

Also try Euro Bistro, 314 Elden St, Herndon VA; the owner is Austrian
Cafe Monti, 3250 Duke St, Alexandria VA 703/370-3632
Rheingarten, 3998 Jefferson Davis Hwy (Route 1), Stafford VA
   It is easily accessed by Exit 150A (east) from Interstate-95 and then south on Route 1
   for 3.5 miles. The restaurant is on the east side of Route 1.

There is also a German restaurant close to Annapolis south to route 2.
I've heard of German restaurants in Frederick MD and Front Royal VA, too.

There is also supposed to be a German store in Bethesda, at Bradley & Arlington
streets.
