Dr. Helen M. Hart
BA Physics University of Montana, Missoula
MS, PhD Astrophysical, Planetary, and Atmospheric Sciences University of Colorado, Boulder Me in 1995

I work with the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) Science Operations group. We are located in the Bloomberg physics building on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus in Baltimore MD. I am primarily concerned with spacecraft pointing stability and guide star control. I came to the FUSE project after 10 years working in Science Operations for the Hubble Space Telescope.

My current research focus is on low mass stars, brown dwarfs, extrasolar planets, and stellar disks. I am active in various outreach and education projects, and I am the instructor for "Understanding and Teaching Stars, Galaxies and Beyond," a graduate class for K-12 teachers taught at The Johns Hopkins University.
