Cycle 4 GIs will be provided with partially-filled out Phase 2 template files automatically.
You should only need this blank template if you find it easier to start from scratch.
Other users can download this file as a starting place.
To retrieve the ASCII template for use in Phase 2, click on the above link
(to display the template), then go to FILE...Save as
and choose Text as the format for the saved document (if you are
a Netscape user; other browsers have something equivalent to this).

Phase 2 Submission Information
To assist you in the proper generation of your Phase 2 inputs, we have
established two electronic submission accounts here at JHU.
p2test@pha.jhu.edu -- for error checking and formatting (see below).
p2submit@pha.jhu.edu -- for submission of error free, complete Phase 2
program files.
The p2test account has been set up to help you debug any syntax errors
with your Phase 2 files as well as catching many other common errors that might
occur. An electronic proposal submission to this account
will be acknowledged by e-mail. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PROGRAM
ID NUMBER IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF E-MAIL TO THIS ACCOUNT, which is needed
for proper tracking of your submission on our end. Shortly after submission
you will receive an e-mail containing a "Parser log"
(from a run of our Parser program on your proposal), and a "formatted" ASCII
version of your proposal for your reference.
The formatted proposal is to allow you to more easily check the content of
your target list and observation specifications. Text blocks will be shown
as ASCII text at the beginning, but more importantly your
keyword entries from the Phase 2 template will be shown in a tabular
format for each target, making it easier to check whether the observation
specifications have been entered correctly.
The Parser log will flag you to any format, syntax, or other issues with regards
to your Phase 2 file. Any problems flagged as "errors" should be fixed
prior to submission. Warning messages and "FYI" messages are also produced
in some instances, and should be reviewed and understood. You are encouraged
to interpret and fix any errors by referring to the
Phase 2 Proposal Instructions and the information
provided in the
FUSE Observer's Guide.
Then (and only then) if you still don't understand what
is causing the problem, you may
send e-mail to fuse_support@pha.jhu.edu and request help.
A member of the Mission Planning Staff will get back to you as soon as possible.
In cases where it is more efficient to handle an interaction in person, refer
to the FUSE Mission Planning Contacts page.
When your Phase 2 file is error free (from the standpoint of the Parser
anyway) and IS COMPLETE, you should make your official submission to the
p2submit account listed above, again including your program ID in the
subject line of the submission message. This submission will be
acknowledged electronically.
