Number 30, February 2004

Contents:

1) Calling All Theses!
2) Don't Forget to Register for the Victoria meeting!
3) CalFUSE 3.0.4 beta-testers needed!
4) Phase 2 Template Files Blocked by Anti-Spam filters

1) Calling All Theses!

The FUSE project now maintains a web page listing all Ph.D. theses that
have used or been supported by FUSE data and grants. When available, we also
provide links either to an on-line summary of the thesis work or to the thesis
itself. We also list theses that are still in development. Please see:

  http://fuse.pha.jhu.edu/papers/theses.html

If you or your students know of Ph.D. theses using FUSE data, please
submit the relevant information to the FUSE Webmaster account at:

  fuseweb@pha.jhu.edu

at your earliest convenience. Please include Full Title, Full name of the
Ph.D. recipient, granting institution, month and year of degree (or when
expected), and any links to on-line information. See the web page for
examples.

2) Don't Forget to Register for the Victoria meeting!

Just a quick reminder to mark your calendars and register for the FUSE
conference, to be held at University of Victoria, British Columbia, during
August 2-6. Abstracts are due by April 1, but the early registrations will
make things easier for the organizers, and will be very much appreciated.

3) CalFUSE 3.0.4 beta-testers needed!

The FUSE project is looking for volunteers to beta-test CalFUSE v3.0.4,
the latest incarnation of the FUSE data-reduction pipeline. If you are
interested in "playing" with this new software -- and helping to uncover its
remaining bugs -- please send a note to fuse_support@pha.jhu.edu. If you are
considered an active v3.0 beta tester, you have already been contacted by the
Science Data Processing team.

4) Phase 2 Template Files Blocked by Anti-Spam filters

We have received a few reports to the effect that the FUSE phase 2
template files have been intercepted by anti-spam filters at some institutions.
Please be aware that if you have not received the partially filled in phase 2
templates by now, this is likely to have happened at your institution as well.
If so, please let us know and we'll send you a copy of the template using a
proven alternative route.

The Observer's Electronic Newsletter is published by the FUSE project and is aimed at the FUSE user community.
