This README file and the following proposal files (Latex template,
instructions, and Latex style file) are automatically generated when
email is sent to fuseprop@pha.jhu.edu, with the phrase "help"
or "request templates" somewhere in the email "Subject" line.  These
files can also be displayed and/or downloaded from the FUSE Guest
Investigator Website:

The FUSE Observer's Guide and Data Handbook can be obtained 
from the JHU Science Center website:

Submitting a proposal
---------------------

A complete proposal submission consists of the following three steps:

1) Fill in the Cover Page/Proposal Summary and attach the formatted proposal 
   through the NASA Peer Review Services web site at:
   
   http://nspires.nasaprs.com.  
   

2) Have your institution's Authorizing Official submit the proposal to NASA.

      For non-US proposers whose institutions are not registered with NSPIRES,
      the role of the submitting organization will be fulfilled by the 
      "FUSE GI Support Center" and the role of the authorizing official will 
      be fulfilled by the FUSE Project Scientist, Dr. George Sonneborn (or his
      designee).  Please see the Cycle 8 Phase 1 instructions for details.

3) Email the completed LaTeX proposal form to fuseprop@pha.jhu.edu 

      You will receive an automated reply via email assigning an ID number
      to your proposal.   Submission of the Latex form is required.

The preferred method of preparing the formatted submission is to
process the completed LaTeX form (together with the "fuse8.sty" 
file and the "latex" and "dvips" commands).


Note that for Cycle 8, hard-copy submittal of the proposal is not required,
nor accepted.
