CalFUSE v3.2.2 Is Now Available
The final version of the FUSE calibration pipeline, CalFUSE v3.2.2, is now available for general use. The software runs on 64-bit machines running Linux and Sun workstations running Solaris v10. A new walk correction file is included, along with updates to the flux-calibration and background scattered-light models. For details, please see the Introduction to CalFUSE v3.2.
We are currently reprocessing the entire FUSE data set with CalFUSE v3.2 for delivery to the MAST archive, from which users can retrieve both extracted spectra and IDF files. We plan to complete this effort by the end of May, 2008

Documentation
-
"CalFUSE Version 3: A Data-Reduction Pipeline for the
Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer"
(Dixon et al. 2007) is the definitive description
of the CalFUSE data-reduction pipeline. Please cite this work in any
scientific papers that refer to CalFUSE.
-
The CalFUSE Pipeline Reference Guide provides instructions
for running the CalFUSE pipeline and detailed descriptions of its
calibration files.

CalFUSE Frequently-Asked Questions page.
-
Data-analysis tools distributed with the CalFUSE pipeline are reviewed
in the document
FUSE Tools in C. A subset of these programs, designed
specifically for the manipulation of IDF files, is described in the
IDF Cookbook, available in both PDF
and HTML formats.
- The worm is a distinctive feature of the FUSE detector. A detailed explanation of the effect is presented by David Sahnow in his memo, The Worm Explained. Jean Dupuis' white paper All About the Worm catalogs the worms present in all spectral segments and apertures.
